Geography Īccording to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.16 square miles (0.41 km 2), all land. Burchard was incorporated as a village in 1884. The community was named after a local clergyman. History īurchard was platted in 1881 when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad was extended to that point. The village is approximately 10 miles from the Nebraska- Kansas border and ten miles west of Pawnee City. The population was 78 at the 2020 census.
